Reinvention for Disruptive Times
Presented by Filmmakers Collaborative SF and Re-Present Media
With the ongoing funding and socio-political challenges facing independent film and public media, it’s clear the need to pivot and reinvent is essential to making progress on our film projects. This includes all phases of the filmmaking process: from fundraising to production and distribution.
This year’s Getting Down to Business seminar series, Reinvention for Disruptive Times, focuses on practical solutions and strategies to adjust to the current climate. We will look at what we can learn from the past and present—and strategize about new ways to make our projects relevant and achievable during this time of disruption.
The four 90 minute seminars will be moderated by Jennifer Crystal Chien from Re-Present Media and Kevin White from Filmmakers Collaborative SF. Each session will feature guest panelists from different backgrounds and perspectives to help give our audience ideas and strategies to maneuver the road ahead.

This seminar will address strategies to navigate the increasingly consolidated distributor ecosystem that often marginalizes filmmakers’ distribution goals and success.
